This is not the first case where I know of a company promising AI but delivering humans instead. Some times we bite off more than we can handle.
Redmond, WA - Dissatisfied with the artificial intelligence engine on Halo 3, developers at Bungie Studios have decided to outsource the game’s AI for cheap offshore human intelligence…..
Or perhaps that is the next step in artificial intelligence? ( Human generated artificial intelligence )

Perhaps that article shouldn’t be taken completely seriously.

But this is not the only place this is occurring. Because of inexpensive farm labor now available in the US farm robotics development is slowing down.
Farmers can use cheap labor so there is no need to make a large investment in a robot to do the job. So the companies that would be making these robots have no incentive to push development of farm robots to a new level.
Once farm labor again goes up in price, then US farmers will need robots to weed and pick fruit in order to stay competitive in a world market.
